What Cowork actually is

Cowork is the mode inside Claude's desktop app that works on your computer rather than in a chat window. It reads and edits files in folders you give it, connects to your email, calendar, drive, and accounting tools, and runs multi-step work — draft the report, reconcile the numbers, rename the files, send it back for approval. It shows you a plan before it acts and only touches what you've allowed.

What's interesting about this is not that the model got smarter. It's that the work finally has somewhere to land. A chatbot gives you an answer you then have to do something with. Cowork does the something.

Which is also why the setup matters more than the software. What it can do for you is decided almost entirely by what you connect it to and what routines you build in the first few weeks.

Why most people stall

The usual pattern: install it, ask it a general question, get a good answer, close the laptop. Nothing about the week has changed. A month later the subscription is a line item nobody defends.

Cowork earns its place when it has your folders, your inbox, your recurring obligations, and three or four routines you actually trust. Building those is a different skill from using AI, and it's the part almost nobody does alone.

What's included

Setup — done for you. Installation on your machine, a folder structure Cowork can work with, and connections to the tools you already run: Gmail or Outlook, Google Calendar, Drive or Dropbox, QuickBooks, your CRM, your invoicing. We set the boundaries too — what it can see, what it can change, what always waits for your approval.

Build — three to five working systems. Taken from your actual week, not a template. We build them with you watching, so you understand what's happening well enough to change it later.

Training — a working session, not a lecture. How to give instructions that land the first time. When to let it run and when to check its work. Where it's reliable and where it isn't — the honest version. You'll leave with a written playbook specific to your business, so nothing depends on remembering what I said.

Follow-up — thirty days. The useful questions surface in week two, once you've tried it on something that mattered. You get direct access for a month, plus one check-in session to fix what drifted and add what you've since thought of.

What it costs

$4,500 for setup, build, training, the written playbook, and thirty days of support. One price, no hourly billing.

Cowork itself requires a paid Claude plan — $20/month covers most individual use, with heavier plans available if you push it hard. That's paid to Anthropic directly, not to us.

Common questions

Do I need a Claude subscription already? No. We'll pick the right plan together on the call — most people start at $20/month and never need more.

Is it safe to let it near my files? It only reaches folders and accounts you explicitly grant, and it shows you its plan before acting. Part of the setup is deciding those limits deliberately rather than by default. We'll go through it together.

Mac or Windows? Both. It also runs on the web and on your phone, so work started at the desk can be checked from the car.

What if my software isn't a common one? Bring it to the call. Cowork connects to a long list of tools directly, and can often work with the rest through files and exports. If it can't, I'll say so.

Can you train my whole team? Yes — team engagements are scoped separately. Tell me how many people and what they do.

On site or remote? Either. On site across Wayne, Radnor, Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, Villanova, and the surrounding towns; remote anywhere else.
